People don’t usually think of science and technology with they think of fads… until they look in their drawers and find all of the remote controls for outdated equipment that were all of the rage in the day, but are now more useless than a Pet Rock.

Among the most recent technology fads was the Y2K hysteria of 1999. While people across the world feared that the computer glitch would lead all means of societal norms to fail, it was all much ado about nothing. As more science and technology fads develop they will be covered here as well as others that have long been forgotten but now deserve a second look.
